Eclipse glasses

Detailed Product Description

NEVER
view the SUN directly, even during a partial eclipse and especially not through sunglasses, photographic films, slides, x-rays, etc...
It is strongly unadvised using glasses known as for eclipses which are not certified "CE" by an approved laboratory empowered to carry out the test of conformity relating to personal protective equipment.

BUT MAKE SURE
to wear protective eyeglasses equipped with solar filters and specially designed for DIRECT viewing of the SUN.

Enjoy the event, but protect your eyes to avoid injuring them from the conjunction of the SUN and the MOON.
Our eclipse glasses, specially designed for direct and prolonged observation of the SUN, are conform to the  European Directive and have "EC" certification.

Below is a visual detailing the dangerous phases during a solar eclipse.
During the TOTAL ECLIPSE of 22nd July 2009 it is essential to protect your EYES throughout the different phases of the TOTAL ECLIPSE.
During the ANNULAR ECLIPSE of 15 January 2010 there will be no safe phase, and it is therefore essential to protect your EYES throughout the duration of the ANNULAR ECLIPSE.

VISUAL AFTER-EFFECTS... A solar eclipse is an exceptional event and should be a memorable experience. Unfortunately, at every eclipse, several hundred cases of retina burns with serious after-effects have been registered.
Eclipse-related burns bring about a deterioration of central vision, visual distortions, alterations in the vision of colours, dark spots in the centre of the visual field.
Such injuries are all the more insidious because they are painless and appear rapidly: just a few tens of seconds of exposure to the sun can leave permanent side-effects.

PREVENTION IS BETTER... The Sun is the only astral body whose observation is dangerous.
Our eyeglasses contain BLACK POLYMER filters conforming to the standard , and their lenses are made from material making up the entire filter in its composition.
This high-quality, hardwearing and virtually untearable filter is even safer and provides a clear image of the sun, in ORANGE colour.
Our eyeglasses, manufactured with an solar filter certified , filter:100 % of ultra-violet rays.
100 % of infra-red rays.
99.999 % of light intensity.

Sunlight is harmful to the eyes. Do not overexpose your eyes!
Not wearing to look at a solar eclipse is the best way to get an indelible memory of the experiencein the form of permanent black spots caused by burns to the retina.

We now know that solar radiation plays a part in the phenomenon of ageing of the lens and retina.
This process can bring on a cataract or macular degeneration.
The retina is a delicate light-sensitive membrane found at the back of the eyeball. The cells in the retina send messages in the form of pulses along the optic nerve to the brain.
The brain builds these pulses up into images, and that is how we "SEE".

The retina can be damaged by overexposure to invisible infra-red radiation emitted by the sun.
Because the burning caused is totally painless, it all happens without the person realising.
In order to provide the best vision possible the retina has no pain receptors, and it does not even have any blood vessels at its centre.
All one has to do is look at the sun for one minute to cause irreversible damage to this organ.
And worst of all, it is untreatable. Once it has been damaged, the retina cannot be repaired.
The effect is irreversible. It is not until a short while after the burn that we feel the harmful effects!

The worst thing one can do to THE EYES is to look at a total, annular or partial eclipse of the sun without the appropriate protection of .
